About Me

I turned 40 last year and during forced lockdown convinced myself I had some interesting thoughts to share.

Some history: I left the family cranberry farm in Oregon at 18 to learn to surf on the central coast of California. My excuse was a computer engineering degree. Degree earned, I promptly discarded it for a career in solar sales that ended with the ants in my pants causing too much itch to stay on the West Coast. A multi-year tramp around our dirtball was the cure. I met a lovely Portuguese woman in the Amazon which eventually led to raising a family in Portugal. Sintra to be exact, a land the ancient Phonecians, Celts, and Romans originally settled. To say I’ve lived a lucky, varied existence is a criminal understatement.
