Alignment
Daily Ramble
Stars aligning. That’s a fanciful way of saying a coincidence. Only at times, it’s too uncanny to be considered a coincidence. Take, for instance, a recent occurrence this week: my wife just received notification that she’d been accepted to intern at a clinic in Peru. That very same day, I was contacted by a friend looking to rent our home, having heard it might become available. Today, three days later, he contacted me saying that not only would he take care of our home, but also our car and dog while we’re gone. Funnily enough, today is a lunar eclipse. Ok, it’s not stars, but heavenly bodies are aligning.
That’s something I have learned to take note of: when things seem to fall in place effortlessly, I’m on the right track in life. That means there’s no escaping the tractor-beam pull of the Peruvian Amazon, where my wife and I first met seven years ago. If you haven’t seen The Green Frontier on Netflix yet, it offers a great sense of the uncanny synchronicities surrounding jungle life, the magic of jungle knowledge, and the dangers it contains. To say that we’re both excited and nervous about the possibilities of living life in the Amazon again is an understatement.
When I say “Peruvian Amazon” to most people, I can almost see images, floating in people’s minds, of indigenous people chanting around a fire in a thatch hut waving sticks in the air. Life, where we’re going, is decidedly not that. It’s a small city in an area where the Amazon meets the foothills of the Andes. The backdrop is breathtaking, the city noisy, and the air dripping with heat. Equal parts enjoyable and terrible. We’ll have high-speed internet, school for our daughter, and a routine, just as we do here in Portugal. Thankfully, my work is remote and should offer no difficulties in changing location.
While the Lunar Eclipse, our first in two years, may have just wrapped up, here’s hoping that things are lining up in your lives as well. If you’ve had an uncanny experience in the last few days, I’d love to hear about it as well…

WOW! The masks of policymakers have been removed… Bitcoin is a threat.
Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $33k - $42k
Today: $36.5k - $42k
Tomorrow: $36.5k - $42k
Bitcoin’s price is continuing to consolidate and grind back up. I’m cautiously growing optimistic here that we’ll make a successful bullish pivot and reclaim $42k by the end of the week. It’s only Wednesday, so there is plenty of runway ahead to accomplish the task. That said, Bitcoin is clearly not out of the woods. It first needs to break through significant resistance at $40.7k. Thankfully, the slow grinding price action is of the sort that is typically more meaningful. If it can recapture $40.7k and then $42k, there’s a good chance that the bears will be caught offsides with their short positions, leading to a short squeeze and further price gains. I’m detailing what I suspect is the most likely scenario here, but there’s also a strong chance the bulls get exhausted here, and we dive down below $35k. If that were to happen, I’d lose my optimism in a hurry.
TL;DR - $40.7k then $42k in the days ahead, or we see the bears start to drive the price down again.
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: Why doesn’t the world adopt Bitcoin more quickly?
A: Because there is no marketing department.
Bitcoin is a grassroots movement driven by individuals. No organization or individual speaks for it. As a result, there is no marketing budget and no clear narrative to define it in the media. That works for both good and bad. On the good side, it allows narratives to work their way up from a grassroots understanding. “Bitcoin is digital gold” is an example of this type of narrative. On the bad side, it can allow influential actors to try and shape the Bitcoin narrative for their own means. An example of this is, “Bitcoin is bad for the environment,” a recent narrative Elon Musk drove.
