Daily Ramble
The great thing about uprooting is that it provides fresh perspectives. Moving our family out of our Portugal home has led to a decent rethink of priorities in life. Family time has a way of doing that. It also comes at a moment when there are changes afoot on the work front. Change is neither good nor bad, but it can create discomfort as our creature habits are threatened.
On that note, I’ve been considering my newsletter. The community I set out to build based on a part creative, part crypto newsletter has succeeded beyond my expectations. More than 400 are signed up to receive my newsletter each day, and the conversations I had hoped to spark are happening. I have new relationships budding from the effort, and I enjoy the interactions with each of you.
But it’s time to take a pause and ask for some feedback. So if you’ve got a moment, I’d dearly like to hear some feedback on some of the questions I’m asking myself: is my newsletter too frequent coming to you each weekday? Is the crypto content or my Rambles the reason you read? Do you skip certain parts of the newsletter and enjoy the rest? Don’t worry. I’m not threatening any creature comforts…at this point. But I would like to see if there’s some way that I can better craft my newsletter for my 400+ subscribers.
Doing nothing and keeping on is the easiest approach to take since I’ve gotten into a pretty solid routine with my writing. But I’ve toyed with the idea of reducing the newsletter to be delivered less frequently and with more crypto content. Or with putting the crypto content behind a subscription service for a small fee. It currently takes 1-2 hours each day to write, and a small fee for sharing the crypto knowledge I’ve gained could make good sense to compensate for my time since my workload is set to increase on the crypto mining front.
All of this is me thinking out loud. I’m open to suggestions on this or any matter I’m writing about. From the comments I receive, I know that many of you, if not all, are wiser and more educated on these matters than I am. This is my first stab at exposing myself online in a meaningful way, and it’s been a learn-as-I-go process. I will point out that a small fraction of you are likely to respond to my feedback request. That’s not a bad thing. In fact, it’s quite the norm. But it does mean that those that respond to my inquiry will have an outsized voice in the outcome of any potential changes I do make.
So, for those that take a few moments to share their thoughts, I appreciate it. Regardless, thanks for being here and enjoying my little corner of the interwebs. Truly.
Well Said Things on the Interwebs
Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $51k - $53.2k
Today: $42.7k - $53k
Tomorrow: $44.8k - $49k
That little warning I mentioned yesterday about funding rates starting to get high and the possibility of cascading liquidations happening turned out to be prescient. What started as a typical pullback escalated into an absolute blood bath as the market dropped below $43k before rebounding to $47k. An astounding $10k price movement in a single day! It coincidentally happens to be the same day that El Salvador legalized Bitcoin as legal tender. Any chance someone was trying to scare the locals away from using Bitcoin? Who knows, but it is both uncanny and an interesting idea.
Where do I see the price going from here? Up. At least for the bulls to re-try the infamous $49k resistance again. If we continue going up or not will be the question at that point. The best-case scenario would be to see the price consolidate for a few days before grinding up again now that the leverage has been wiped out of the market — more than $3.5B today alone!
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: How many Bitcoin wallets do you use?
A: Two.
I use MUUN wallet to keep small amounts of Bitcoin available to be used for daily transactions. Then, I use Specter to store the rest of the Bitcoin in a multi-signature wallet. The Specter wallet is built using three separate hardware wallets as keys. Two out of the three are necessary to make a transaction.

Hey Kent, Being new to crypto, I appreciate your crypto insights! But also, being a former Pastor, I really appreciate your insights on life, too! Thank you for being real and transparent. Since being a part of the 'Crypto Tips' community, I've enjoyed getting to know, at least virtually, people like Heidi, Toby and yourself. It has had a positive effect, not only on my wallet, but especially on my perspective on life! :) I would be more than willing to financially subscribe to your newsletter, if you decide to go that route. Just keep them coming, please!
