Falling Thoughts
Daily Ramble
It’s no idea Wednesday. Which just means I start typing without knowing where it’ll lead. Some call it writers-block, but since I have a daily newsletter, I don’t have the luxury of sitting around waiting for something epic to drop out of the sky and land in my skull.
Instead, I find the key to overcoming writer’s block is to start writing until the flow of words brings something to the surface. Kinda like when you’re talking through an idea to someone and something surprisingly original unexpectedly pops out of your mouth. I doubt that’s a unique Kent experience, but I do find it amazing when it happens. It’s like walking down the street and catching a glance at yourself in a mirror you didn’t know was there only to have to back up a step to make sure you really saw yourself. It’s a weird little, disconnected-but-still-connected to myself dance that rarely occurs.
Are those moments windows into something deeper? I think people into Buddhism and meditation would probably say I’d managed to see without ego. I’m not sure if that’s really what’s occurring but it’s clear to me that I’m seeing myself, in those rare moments, how someone else would see me. Like looking at how a true, mirror image of yourself looks strange, but how someone else actually sees you.
Let’s just chalk this embarrassing talk with myself up as proof that there’s something more than the monkey mind running around my skull waiting for thoughts from the sky to drop in.

Why not? It’s 2021 after all.
Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $47k - $53k
Today: $47.8k - $54k
Tomorrow: $47.8k - $54k
Indeed, Bitcoin does have more gas in the tank. After an initial rejection at $50k, it clawed back and has gone on to set a new high watermark at $51.8k. The price action has slowed but it continues to look about the same as it has the last several days. It’s an odd price action that I can only describe as being the result of very few bitcoins being available to sell. More bitcoin continue to exit the exchanges than enter them. We may get a swift sell-off once we reach the $53k mark, but all signs point to a continuation of this wildly bullish trend. Without a deep study of money itself, these insane numbers look just that — insane.
Bitcoin Ed Bite
Q: What happens to my privately-held bitcoin if something happens to me?
A: Without being prepared, the bitcoin will most likely become inaccessible. Unless someone else can access the private key, or set of keys, there is no way to move the bitcoin. Here is the tricky part though, if someone else has access to the key, then they could move your bitcoin even while you’re alive. What’s the best solution?
There are several, but the solution we’ve settled on is to provide our estate attorney with specific instructions on how to access the funds. This access is mentioned in the will but the instructions themselves are sealed in an envelope only to be opened incapacitation.

Kent
