Daily Ramble
I did it, dear reader. I broke my sacred vow to write you each weekday. Luckily, no one stormed the gates and put my head on a pike. But I do feel guilty and would like to apologize for not getting Kent’s Corner out yesterday. After a weekend of Amazonian plant medicine, a full day of travel, and fundraising efforts for Sazmining, I lost my mojo and crashed out.
But, I’m back today and want to take a bit of your headspace to recommend the work of Geraldine, who has tremendous mastery over the craft of Amazonian plant medicine. Science has relegated the craft of medicine to be an almost invisible part of western medicine’s repertoire. When I first experienced medicine as a craft, I was shocked at how humane it was. Being a doctor was considered an art in yesteryear — really, I had to look it up to believe it too! No bones about it, Geraldine is an artist with her mastery of the Amazonian medicine traditions.
As a practitioner of the Quechua and Shipibo Amazonian traditions, Geraldine has been healing people since 2010, when she first opened her practice here in Portugal. I came to know her in 2014 when I traveled to Portugal for the first time. Just after meeting Ana in the Amazon, but well before our romantic relationship, Ana pointed me towards Geraldine. The excuse to see Ana and work with the medicine gave me more reasons than I needed to visit Portugal as I backpacked around Europe in the second half of 2014. I arrived in Faro in August and proceeded to spend a week in the Algarve at the majestically rustic Monte Mariposa, where I was guided by Geraldine’s knowledge of the plants to both clean and heal myself.
It’s the same Monte Mariposa where I have spent the last several days — it hasn’t lost its charm. Seven years on in my working with Geraldine, we have both grown. Her craft and command of the Amazonian medicine traditions have matured; and I have matured from a nomadic adventurer-seeker to being a father and a husband — in no small part thanks to working with her and her medicine. I’m grateful to have someone with such incredibly specialized and sacred knowledge living close by, but more importantly, to count Geraldine as a friend.
All this is a long-winded way of saying: if you’re ever in Portugal — or need an excuse to come to Portugal — and have a desire to experience the craft of Amazonian plant medicines, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone more suited than Geraldine to safely and humanely introduce you to the world of Amazonian plants. Her website is here.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $30k - $34.2k
Today: $30.7k - $33.2k
Tomorrow: $29.8k - $34k
Although I missed providing a price prediction yesterday, there was not much to miss. The price has been grinding its way down since Monday’s open above $34k. Today, the bulls are pushing to shift the trend as buyers stepped into the market near $31.5k. While it looks like a healthy push at the moment, the bulls will need to continue to push the price over $34k in the coming 24-48 hours or risk losing control to the bears again. I’m suspect that the bulls have that type of ammo, however. It’s more likely that we see the bears retake charge and drive the price lower once the bulls lose their muster. All in all, the market continues to look bearish.
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: Is Bitcoin a form of digital real estate?
A: Yes
In the same way that real estate is limited by available land, the Bitcoin network is limited by available bitcoin. With only 21 million that will ever exist, Bitcoin can be considered a form of digital real estate. To compare the two, Bitcoin’s property title is the same as private key ownership, and title transfer is low cost — currently less than $5 to transfer bitcoin to another party. Most importantly, bitcoin cannot be seized by a third party, where physical real estate can be.
