Mental Health
Daily Ramble
This morning, I sat down at the computer to write out a steamy ramble about how reparations are needed to compensate the two cultural groups European settlers to the New World cut off from their roots: Native Americans and Africans. After all, emotional and material compensation is the age-old tribal tradition that works best to heal conflict. But the fog of too little sleep has not been warded off by the second cup of coffee, and I can’t give the topic the flow of words needed to brave holding up a lightning rod in an electric storm. Sorry, Ben Franklin.
Instead, I’m going to ramble on the concept of “mental health.” That term bugs the bejeebus out of me. Why? Because it inaccurately puts a “problem” into the area between our ears when it’s not how our bodies work. It’s like saying that I’ve got a CPU problem in my computer when the display stops working. Sure, the CPU helps get the signal to the screen, but the screen is bloody-well involved. It doesn’t really do much good to have a CPU without a screen, huh? The mind and body work together to form a mind-body unit…and if you believe there are more than just 5 senses at play, then consciousness adds to that to form the mind-body-consciousness trinity.
Trying to treat one of the areas without acknowledging or checking in on the others does about as much good as making sure the engine has oil but letting the tires stay flat and the radiator disconnected. It all works together. Science has a hard time dealing with systems-level thinking, so it’s inconvenient to see humans holistically, but it’s also more accurate. That’s why the “just take this pill to fix it” is super appealing but rarely works — at least not for long. We all crave the simplicity of a pill to fix our problems. It’s just that we’re not simple. It’s also why holistic healing arts systems like acupuncture, herbalism, yoga, and shamanism have stood the test of time.
Trauma is something each human being on the planet experiences in their lifetime. It’s formed when our limbic system short circuits from too much emotion and can’t process it throughout the night in our REM state. The emotions get stuck in the body and form a density in the body’s life flow, leading to all sorts of “mental health” issues. I am speaking to this from experience. I’ve had various therapeutic experiences that have simultaneously released muscle tension, revealed internal insights, and eased my mind. It’s pretty hard for me to call that “mental health,” especially when the therapy was based on bodywork.
So…sorry, but not sorry if the next time you hear “mental health,” it causes you to grimace…or worse, think a bit as well.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $53k - $58k
Today: $52k - $57k
Tomorrow: $50k - $57k
Grind, grind, drop. That about summarizes Bitcoin’s price movements over the last 24 hours. The price fell just lower than $53k to start the day, then bounced and attempted recovery. Today's price action suggests that we’ll likely need to dip into the $50k-$52k region to find the buyers necessary to start the trend back upwards. As a new level down is reached, it opens up possibilities of going further. I still have trouble imagining we’ll cross through the $50k barriers before finding a stable bullish pivot, but it is possible now that we’re testing the bottom of the range formed from the breakdown last week.
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: Can anyone stop me from sending and receiving Bitcoin?
A: No.
Bitcoin is a decentralized network. Any transaction sent following the rules of Bitcoin’s open-sourced software will be successfully received. This is especially powerful for human rights issues since it allows dissidents to receive funding through a mechanism that banks can’t shutter. The Human Rights Foundation has found Bitcoin to be such a powerful tool that they raise funds to directly support the open-source developers continually working to improve the network.
