Pigs
Daily Ramble
I put out a meek call to action on Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see some new sign-ups. For anyone that signed-up or helped someone sign-up, thank you. I appreciate it and hope you continue to enjoy my thoughts.
It’s been almost two full months of grey skies here in Sintra. I’m an Oregonian by blood so long periods of grey skies aren’t foreign to me. But what never ceases to amaze me is the impact those grey skies have on my disposition. Saturday we woke to a glorious day that felt like spring’s arrival. Instantly, my mood was lifted and I could tell I wasn’t alone — laughter and singing bubbled up throughout the neighborhood. It’s cliche to say it takes experiencing the valley to appreciate the mountaintops, but what awes me is how I can’t see that I’m in a valley until standing on the mountaintop. My happiness genuinely caught me by surprise.
Like any good ex-Oregonian, I’m hardwired to spend as much time outdoors as possible when the weather clears. Saturday morning I spent on a bike enjoying the budding earth and fresh ocean air. Seeing a drove of pot-bellied bigs munching on compost next to the sea caught me by surprise, which obviously meant phone-out-photo-time. Naia found the photo on my return and began an incessant pig chant the rest of the evening.
I dutifully threw her into the car seat Sunday morning for a bike ride back to the pigs. In-person pigs was a different deal for the little Papaya — we couldn’t get too close to them because she was “kared”. But it didn’t stop her from starting up the pig chant when we got home — and making me promise I’d take her again today. 🤦🏻♂️

I convulsed when I saw it — it’s a happy ending though.
Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $44k - $54k
Today: $45.5k - $50k
Tomorrow: $44k - $50k
Bitcoin’s price action over the weekend was a grind fest. The bulls and bears are duking it out in heavyweight fashion over the $50k price target. It’s a large psychological barrier in the market and overcoming it will likely see continued upside in short order — perhaps as high as $55k. Over the weekend, we came within $100 of reaching it, only to be swiftly rejected. My estimate is that we will hit it in the next day only to be rejected several times before overcoming it. That means the range from $43.8k to $50k will likely be the playground for the next few days — unless bullish news comes out juicing the market. With as much attention as Bitcoin is receiving in the media, we’re in an environment where news has an outsized impact on price. See last Monday’s Elon Musk news for proof.

Q: How do I store my Bitcoin?
A: There are four primary ways to store your Bitcoin. The more valuable your Bitcoin, the more effort you should put into security. Transitioning from one form of storage to another is a journey and it is not worth skipping steps. From least to most secure:
Exchange - leave your Bitcoin on the exchange where you purchased your Bitcoin. The risk is that something happens to the exchange — not a small risk.
Desktop or Smartphone Wallet - as long as it provides you a seed phrase, this is more secure than an exchange because no one but you has access. The risk is that someone accesses your wallet while online.
Hardware Wallet - being physically separated from the internet, this offers a high degree of security. The risk is that you lose access to your private key or a physical attacker can coerce you into sending your funds.
2 of 3 MultiSig Wallet - a two of three multi-signature wallet means there are three separate devices involved in accessing and sending your bitcoin. You can lose one device and still have access and, assuming you stored the keys in separate locations, it becomes nearly impossible for an attacker to force you into sending your bitcoin.
