Relationships
Daily Ramble
I suppose I’m getting old when the idea of dating again frightens me. I can’t say that marriage is an easier proposition. Still, the thought of having to start over in a relationship is one of the biggest motivations for me to work on getting things sorted out in my marriage.
Thankfully, the rest of the dating world is waking up to the fact that love can’t be sorted out in a 5-minute speed date, a Tinder fling, or a random hookup at the bar. People are just too complex to know without spending some serious time. I’ve been with my wife for six years now, and I can assure you, I don’t ever think I’ll truly know her. It’s not that she’s unique in this regard, but that people are not static. What’s true of someone today could be totally different in a few years. God knows the process of becoming married and having a kid has had a profound transformational effect on both of us!
My point isn’t to delve into my relationship but to point out that typecasting people is a fool’s errand. Although the aging process may conclude around 25 years of age, we never stop evolving. Indeed, I suspect when we do, we start crawling towards our graves. Continuing to push ourselves to understand new concepts, languages, and ways of understanding ourselves is invariably going to lead to a new version of you showing up. Shoot, even putting ourselves into a different setting causes a different version of us to show up. When a new version of you shows up, the rest of the world reacts in kind and adjusts as well—a big dancing kaleidoscope of change.
So, if you marry someone and expect them to stay exactly as they are, you’re hopelessly fooling yourself. You’re also fooling yourself if you marry someone and expect them to change the way you want or expect. It’s just not the way two individuals grow and evolve in a relationship. However, if both parties can stay infinitely curious and supportive of each other’s evolution, I think there’s a winning recipe in there… somewhere. But ask me again after another six years of marriage…I’m sure I’ll have a new, better recipe.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $48.8k - $55.6k
Today: $52k - $56.5k
Tomorrow: $51k - $60k
Bitcoin is doing Bitcoin things again, having proved the naysayers wrong…yet again. No matter how many times Bitcoin dips in a bull market, there never seems to be a shortage of folks convinced that a bear market is beginning. They will be right…eventually...but not this early in the cycle. Since Sunday, Bitcoin has rounded the bottom and is chugging along upwards, slowly but surely. Currently, we just cleared $55k, and although I continue to wait for a short-term pullback, it just does not seem to be in the cards. $55.6k should be an area of struggle, but ultimately, even if it takes a few days, we should be pushing past it and into the $60k zone. Full steam ahead!
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: What is Bitcoin good for?
A: Many things.
The list of things Bitcoin is good for is extensive, but here are the top use cases:
Storing value outside of inflationary fiat currencies
Collateral for loans
A mechanism to send financial support to dissidents in oppressive regimes
An asset that can’t be confiscated
A mechanism to provide resources to family members in sanctioned regimes
Providing a form of banking for the unbanked
A symbolic protest against existing central bank-issued currencies
A means to “vote with your feet” without leaving value behind.
