Tobacco Treatment
Daily Ramble
My wife and I have spent a significant amount of time in Peru. It’s where we met. We spent most of our time around Tarapoto, working with Takiwasi, a clinic specializing in Traditional Amazonian Medicine. Takiwasi is an NGO whose primary mission is to help rehabilitate men with drug addictions. But, outside their primary mission, they also support individuals looking to develop themselves through a combination of therapy and traditional Amazonian plant medicines. These plants include ayahuasca, tobacco, coca, among many, many others.
Their treatment program for addicted men is a 9-month program where the men live in a community and re-learn social skills while following a strict therapy and plant medicine protocol. Their efficacy rates at rehabilitating drug addictions are more than twice the normal, and their approach to drug addiction therapy is in the process of being scientifically validated by an international team led by Dr. Brian Rush from the Center for Addiction and Mental Health out of Toronto, Canada. Takiwasi is also responsible for making ayahuasca a legally recognized medicine in the Peruvian culture. Assisting Takiwasi, and learning from them, is what is leading our family to live in Peru this fall.
Physician Jacques Mabbit is the French doctor running the clinic. Jacques arrived in Peru in 1980 on an assignment from Doctors Without Borders. After experiencing the efficacy of Amazonian plant medicines, he began a shamanic indoctrination process. By 1992, the inspiration he’d received led him to open the Takiwasi clinic on the banks of the Shilicayo river outside Tarapoto. Jacques, and his wife Rose, are towering figures in the small bridge world between westerners and indigenous Amazonian ways. They have both been instrumental in honoring, preserving, and spreading this Amazonian wisdom, which is arguably the oldest healing knowledge on the planet.
So, with great surprise yesterday, I received Takiwasi’s latest newsletter only to be gifted with a 20-page pdf on how tobacco can be used to prevent and reduce the toxic effects of COVID and vaccination side-effects. While it’s a dense read, digging deep into the genetics of COVID, the summary is pretty clear: if you're seeking a COVID preventative, a resolution for long haul COVID symptoms, or a resolution for post-vaccination side-effects, tobacco is an effective treatment. Most people conjure up a lit cigarette when they see the word tobacco. That is not what I’m speaking about. Tobacco, the plant, is what I’m speaking about. The article provides specific types of tobacco that can be used if mapacho, the tobacco of the Amazon, is difficult to find. Used as a snuff, swallowing the smoke, and drinking a tobacco infusion are the primary ways described by the protocol Takiwasi has used with great success.
So, today has been less of a Ramble and more of a solution for those that have tired of my COVID complaints the last few days. If you read the document from Takiwasi and desire mapacho, message me. Ana and I might be able to assist, depending on where you live.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $30.7k-$33.6k
Today: $30.7k - $33.6k
Weekend: $28k - $34.5k
Yesterday, I was pretty clear in the belief that the bears are in charge of the price action. I continue to have that perspective, with the caveat that no one knows what will occur in the market. It’s all based on probabilities. So my bias is bearish, but that doesn’t mean it will stay that way. Despite the price of Bitcoin staying relatively flat over the last day, I don’t believe that means we’ll see the bulls take charge for more than small pushes that will be sold into. That said, as long as we remain over $30k, the range low, there continues to be a possibility that the bulls rally and reverse the trend and my bias. The one thing that keeps the bullish possibility open in my mind is how Bitcoin is being accumulated and removed from exchanges. Leading into the weekend, that could mean we see some wild price activity once again as the high-volume traders take their leave.
Bitcoin Q & A
Q: Is Bitcoin the best store of value over the long term?
A: Yes
It may seem counterintuitive to consider a volatile asset like Bitcoin to be the best store of value, but the properties of Bitcoin make it the best store of value over the long term. Taking a step back when it comes to pricing, the average growth rate of Bitcoin’s price has exceeded 200% each year. Because Bitcoin is immutable and weightless, these properties ensure that Bitcoin can store value over both time and space. There is no other asset that offers these characteristics.
