Too Many Thoughts
Daily Ramble
It struck a chord today when I heard someone say that writers write because they have too many thoughts. As much as the few people reading this may enjoy my daily rambles, the truth is that I write to keep my thoughts fresh and my feet on the ground.
The practice of transforming a thought into a word is not seamless but the more frequently I try, the more flow I find between my mind and my fingers scampering across the keyboard. Transforming a thought is not much different than taking a picture of a cloud. The cloud loses dimension, shape, and feel, but the viewer is still able to tell it’s a cloud in the photo. The best any of us can do with words is approximate thoughts — which is why language is such a curious thing.
Language itself captures thoughts in specific containers we call words. One of the most fascinating aspects of my travels was learning untranslatable words. These words are ideas that don't (yet) exist within the English language. Let me give you a couple of examples:
Saudade - it’s a Portuguese word that roughly means “bitter sweet”. It expresses both the joy for having had something and the sadness that it is no longer is there. My wife would say I’m totally wrong, but can’t explain it better. It’s an
”understanding in progress” for me.Waldeinsamkeit - a German word that refers to the feeling one has while being alone in the woods, usually a sublime or spiritual one. I love that there’s a word for this experience.
Mångata - a Swedish word used to describe the moonlight reflecting off the water. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a single word to describe such a common phenomenon?
The point being writing both forces me to create something tangible with my thoughts and allows me to simultaneously consider new ideas by the words I choose. Thanks for being kind enough to read them.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $34.7k - $40k
Today: $32k - $36.5k
Tomorrow: $32k - $38k
We’ve got a slight twist today: though consolidation continues, the bears have the upper hand instead of the bulls. The bullish tint to yesterday ended late in the session as the price fell from a high of $38k closing at $35.8k. The bears continued to drive down the price today dropping as low as $34k, at present. There may be more downside ahead before buyers step in, but I don’t see us losing the $32k region anytime soon. Tomorrow, we’re set to see this consolidation pattern continue near range lows. We may have another week in this $32k-$42k range before we see a new trend emerge.

Q: Isn’t Bitcoin used for criminal activity?
A: Yes, but not near as much as you think.
Before getting into the data, first, it’s important to recognize that money is a tool that both criminals and the rest of us use. It doesn’t know who is using it. Before Bitcoin existed, criminals were moving money around to fund their activities.
The latest data just came out and a whopping .34% of all crypto activity was illegal last year. That’s right, less than 1% which equates to $10B in transactions.
How does that compare to traditional banking? $10B is the amount the banking industry was FINED by the legal system for allowing criminals to use their systems. Read about it here.
The bottom line: criminals use money to finance illegal activity whether that’s traditional banking of Bitcoin.
