Daily Ramble
It’s hard to get away from COVID these days, innit? No matter where you turn, everyone has a perspective. There’s a lot of screaming and yelling, a lot of fear, and a lot of stupid decisions being made — I think this much we can all agree on.
So let’s talk about something other than COVID, shall we? Today, I had the beautiful experience of taking my mask off and walking liberally through both a mall and a restaurant. I caught some looks, but to be fair, most of the looks I saw were ones of envy. Not fear. That was a welcome change. To me, it suggested that there’s a recognition of futility in masks. Either that, or it’s just the Portuguese culture’s live-and-let-live attitude in action. I’ll gratefully take it, though.
Speaking of Portuguese culture, earlier today, we headed over the hill separating us from the population center along the River Tagus for a birthday lunch. I was reminded on the 30-minute drive how the Portuguese alter-ego likes to express itself on the road. It’s not quite road rage, but it’s closer to it than the easy-come, easy-go attitude that makes up the flow of life in Portugal. It’s like the car provides the perfectly contained vessel to let out the constrained rage of being too chill all the time. I find it laughable to watch my wife suddenly fly into fits of rage at drivers moving too slowly in front of her, or the guy who doesn’t realize he’s entered a driving competition with her by pulling a dick move, or how the rest of the road better “get out of the way.” Yeah, she might not be happy at these words, but I bet she laughs.
So, you’re welcome for the 30-second COVID-19 break. I’m sorry that it’s going to re-intrude on reality before long. When it gets too much, make time to check out and do something physical to ground yourself in your body. A stagnant body tends to be a better incubator for fear. And no one makes good decisions being wound up, regardless if you’ve got COVID or not.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
Yesterday: $44.4k - $49k
Today: $43.8k - $46k
Tomorrow: $42.5k - $49k
Bitcoin’s price action has gotten convoluted over the last few days. Both bearish and bullish signals show in the market, which generally means the market is undecided. However, coming off the heels of a massive month, the mixed bag of signals suggests a pullback is brewing. The furthest I can see that coming would be $38k if it were to happen. But the first point to watch is the $44k region which the bears need to flip to open the possibility of more downside. Should the bears fail here, then a rally up to the fateful $49k because more plausible.
